Total height of the vinyl letters (distance between the two red lines)
We always refer to the total height of the decal set. Please consider your mix of uppercase and lowercase characters. The size you choose is the overall height of the sticker. Depending on the font, not all characters have the same height, as shown in our example. When using lowercase letters, the ascenders and descenders (b, d, f, h, k, l and g, j, p, q, y) affect the total height. The overall length (width) of the text will also change when you switch between all caps and mixed case. Keep this in mind when designing your boat lettering.
Our boat stickers are precision cut from coloured polymer vinyl (not printed) and supplied with transfer tape for easy application to your hull. After installation there is no background—only the letters remain. Gloss polymer vinyl offers 7–8 years of outdoor durability; matte finishes last approximately 5–6 years.
Suitable for smooth, clean gelcoat or painted surfaces. UV- and weather-resistant for saltwater environments. Ideal for boat names, home ports and registration numbers; crisp edges, no background and a professional, paint-like look.
